Gateway API

Gateway API is a modern replacement for ingress objects

Components

• GatewayClass - defines what gateway controller can be used in the cluster
• Gateway - Creates an instance of a gateway controller
• HTTPRoute or TCPRoute or GRPCRoute - define the routes to backend services

Enable GatewayAPI in Cilium

• Manually install the GatewayAPI CRDs
• Enable it in Cilium
